The Cedar Home
This custom built, highly efficient 5 bedroom, 3 ½ bathroom home was built with a geo-thermal heat pump, solar hot water heater, and a dual-sided masonry heater that includes a fire box in the den and a bread oven in the kitchen. The exterior is made of pre-finished Carolina Colortones cedar shakes and a standing seam metal roof. Some of the wood for the trim was harvested off the site. This house qualified for a Gold level Energy Star rating and Healthy Built Home Certification.
